 Prozac and "No-Zac" Stories
We post them as we get them.

Bart's Son was on Prozac:
"My son was having trouble in 5th grade, this was a worsening problem starting in 1st or 2nd grade. He became depressed because he was having such problems interacting with peers and doing poorly in school. All of his teachers indicated the schoolwork problem was not due to low intelligence. In tests he is ahead of grade level, but in actual performance, he was flunking.

We took him to a counselor who recommended Prozac for the depression. We tried that and it worked, for a while. Then it went to hell for several months! My 5th grade boy started threatening suicide and having many other bizzarre behaviors. We tried several other such drugs but nothing worked.

So I demanded that we remove him from all drugs. Once he was off Prozac for about two weeks, he was back to normal.

During this 'time in hell' we felt we were progressively losing our son. He was just no longer there! He was someone else that nobody liked, not even himself. It is just like you say on your fine website.

We are now working with him within our family and so far things have improved. And no voices, threats of suicide, or other bizzarre behavior. I mean we considered having him committed to an institution because we were worried about his safety, as well as the safety of his 9 year old sister and of ourselves, we were that scared!

He still has some problems with interpersonal relationships (he tends to only have one very close-best friend, and no others). BUT, he is a normal healthy 11 year old! Now we can leave him alone with his sister for short periods of time and even let him have the run of the neighborhood (or the beach on weekends).

Thank god for families than hold together but watch out for the drug pushers in suits!

Cynthia's Son is on Prozac:
"My son was put on Prozac one month ago, he is 14. He immediately did a total personality change for the worse. He has also immediately gotten into serious trouble with the law.

I totally beleive it is the Prozac that has done this. Please if someone can help please let me know soon! I just want him to get help he needs not sent away to a prison for kids. If you can help with stories of similar bad reactions please contact me at CCD63@aol.com. Please run this story soon his trial is in 10 days. Thank you.

Dear Cynthia,
thanks for your email about your son. His being on Prozac would certainly have been an aggravating factor leading to his situation.

Patty's husband was on Prozac:
"My name is Patty. My husband was on Prozac for 5 months. Here is the story:

Our house burned down in Dec 95. Fighting with the insurance company, fighting with the changed town zoning laws, watching the remains of our home torn down, still more fighting with the town over every thing imaginable. The stress got to my husband. In April 96 he went to his doctor to renew his prescription for blood pressure pills. The doctor, knowing what had happened to our home, prescribed 20mgs Prozac once a day.

Everything was fine for 4 months, then he passed out at work, was kept at hospital overnight. From then on he thought of suicide and tried to kill himself 3 or 4 times. He was having horrible dreams, violent dreams. Then he started acting them out, walking in front of cars, walking on tracks waiting for trains to run him down.

One dream he saw himself in a coffin. He felt like his soul had been ripped out. Had a constant pain inside him he couldn't pinpoint, was driving around speeding in his car. Crashed into the back of a car, had an affair, complained of electric currents through his body, unable to concentrate at home or work. He internal shakes, couldn't sleep at night, when he did he had nightmares.

All this from a man who never had a health compaint other than a cold, nor a day of depression in his life. I called his doctor for help but he just kept adding more drugs to the list, Paxil, Toprol, Buspar, Klonopin. Finally we saw a neurologist who upped his Prozac to 40mgs a day.

Now in late 96 he sunk even deeper into this hell. By X-mas he was a basket case and completely out of control. In January of 97 he was put in the psych ward and put him on Effexor, Serentil and Annafranil. Now he was like the walking dead. The end of January he went berserk, was rehospitalized for 14 days and came home medicated again. Went back to work in March did good until August when he was weaned off Serentil due to extreme tiredness. Well on Aug 30, 1997 I found him at 3:00 a.m. in his car with a pool hose from his exhaust to his window, because of guilt over all he had done over the past year. Back to the psych ward again.

I have been reading up on adverse reactions to Prozac. And out of the 35 listed in the Prozac support group's web page he suffered 26 of them. Read up more, further reactions can last for years! Now he is on Annafranil, Pamelor and Mellaril but no longer on Prozac.

If he can't make it this time we will probably lose our house. We went through all our insurance money for living expenses while he was out of work and Dr. bills. 20 years of work down the drain thanks to this wonder drug Prozac and the doctor who put him on it not knowing the side effects and reactions in some people.

Thank you Prozac and Dr. (doctor name deleted to prevent lawsuit). Thank you (giant pharmaceutical name deleted to prevent giant lawsuit) for making my husband one of your human guinea pigs with your wonder drug!"

Jonathan was on Paxil:
"In my job I was recently told to fly to a customer in North Carolina. I am very uneasy about flying. Severe anxiety does not describe the feelings I was having to say the least. So a week before leaving I called the doc and asked for something to "ease the anxiety."

She prescribed Paxil at 20mg per day. The first 3 days were great --- no worries --- bags packed and ready to go. When the time came to leave it started: Severe headaches, hallucinations, dizziness, nausea, etc. It was so bad I missed my trip.

I stopped taking Paxil immediately but since then I have fallen into the blackest depression, feeling fatigued, worthless and scared to go out of the house, and experienced weight loss. Who would think an ANTIdepressant could cause me to feel so DEPRESSED?

I wish it was someone else writing this letter. Don't make the same mistake. Don't be a guinea pig. I have ordered your natural mood diet tonight. This could be my last resort to a "normal" life."

Diana's Driver was on Prozac:
"There is a rumor among journalists here in Paris that the driver of Princess Diana's car, Henri Paul, had Prozac or a similar antidepressant drug - in addition to alcohol - in his system. A new blood test has been scheduled." Signed Yves

This was posted to us 3 days after the accident and has since been confirmed.

Linda blacks out on Prozac:
"I have been on prozac for about 4 months now......in just the past month I have been blacking out.....(not OUT) just out of it.....I don't remember a thing......it can be after probably 1-2 glasses of wine.....but not everytime... although I can't remember "things" ........I can with detail remember dreams....

I didn't take my Prozac today and feel very nauseas..<sigh>...I have talked to a friend and she said until she "got used" to taking Prozac and having wine, she also "blacked out" and that a friend of hers used to do the same thing..... I just would like to know if this really is normal.....I don't want to stop having my wine.....but I am really scared ......is it possible that I am not a candidate for Prozac?...all research I have read .....said nothing about the use of alcohol and "blackouts"....thank you for your time."

Signed Linda

This posting is uncanny in view of the one just before it. If you're taking Prozac, at least be warned not to drink anything alcoholic.

Karen is on both Prozac and Zoloft:
"I am losing LITERALLY CHUCKS OF HAIR. I am on both Prozac and Zoloft (yes you can take both together) along with Depakote and some other stuff. I am feeling so afraid that I am going to lose all my hair. Maybe this sounds trivial but after being in THIS BLACK DEPRESSION for two years, I am finally coming out of it, but am sapped of any strength! I have gained 20 lbs.

I have been very PETITE AND UNDER 100LBS. ALL OF MY LIFE until Nortriptyline (which has helped my depression along with the Prozac). My skin is the absolute worst it has ever been in my life and I feel really outta control. I cannot stop crying!! This hair loss is scaring me.

This is just the half of it!! God, I need some strength TODAY! Sorry to be such a bummer!!"

Ron is on the FOOD, MOOD and MONEY diet:
Hello Helmut and other volunteers,
I bought your book and started the regime about 6 weeks ago and am doing GREAT...that is, as long as I do it as instructed. I have found, at least in my case, that it is absolutely essential not to cut corners in this process! All instructions need to be followed to the letter. However, the result far outways the small discpline required.

I was wondering if there were any plans for you guys to market a "all-in-one" formula. It would be very convenient to be able to take everything in one drink or powder of some sort. I realize that there are variables in doses from one individual to another the may prevent a completely unified formula. Please inform me on any development in this area.

Thank You and the Good Lord for your fantastic book and regimen!
Signed Ron

Dear Ron,
thank you so much for your kind praise of our efforts. You ask whether there's an "All-In-One" formula in the cards. It does not look like it, and here are two reasons why:

One, as you yourself state, you have to allow for supplement variations between individuals.

And two, even the same individual should make supplement adaptations dependent on the type of day he or she is going to be having. For instance, let's say you have a weekend ahead where you can stop pushing forward and relax instead, so you cut down on the morning dosis of L-Tyrosine from 5 to 2 because you won't be needing your workday level of adrenaline. And you may have bagels and jam (carbos) for breakfast because you don't mind becoming relaxed and passive early in the day.

In all this you make the adjustment, you watch the result - you know from the book why we call this "self-remembering." One side of the coin is that now you CAN manage your mood levels. The other side is that now that you can, you've GOT TO manage them.

You say that you found it "essential not to cut corners." We are curious what you tried to do, and what went wrong? Your experience could be really helpful to others.

Tony's brother-in law was on Prozac:
"I ordered your report because my family recently suffered a terrible tragedy. My sister was killed by her husband who then killed himself recently. He had been put on Prozac while in counselling for spousal abuse. Just a few hours before the tragedy, he was reportedly in good spirits. This couple was having problems but I never thought my brother-in-law was capable of what he did.

I've been trying to find someone who could help determine if somehow Prozac had something to do with it. Your report opened our eyes."

Dennis is on the FOOD, MOOD and MONEY diet:
"I have a wife of 16 years, two great boys, a house and a fine high-tech job. Unfortunately my wife wants a divorce, the house and custody of the kids. This deterioriating situation paralyzed me totally. I was unable to act. It seems like all I could do was apply more wet paint around the corner where I was stuck. I was going nowhere fast and getting there in record time.

I am grateful that I was never depressed enough to take Prozac. Now I know it all stemmed from a poorly conceived diet, no exercise, and absolutely no foundation of toughness to handle a crisis in my life.

A good friend told me several times to order Food, Mood and Money, and when I didn't he sent me a copy. It looked too good to be true, but it was help in a large way. I started the program with nothing more than a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement, then started adding the L-Tyrosine and the Potassium-Magensium Aspartate to my diet, then the other recommended supplements. Changed my food intake too, far from the processed cheese sandwiches that I had become accustomed to making for myself, all in the name of helpful economy.

Within a week I started taking charge of my life again. I began handling my own money, debts, children, and schedule. I am no longer paralyzed over much larger decisions in my life. I don't fail any more! I reach obstacles, take a deep breath, re-group, and go again. That's not failure -- it's resolve. I'm proud to be living again!

Many thanks for a great job! You may wonder if I could have raised myself on my own, out of the depressed rut I was in? No way. I assure you, no way."
Signed Dennis

Rick was on Paxil:
"My name is Rick. I'm lucky to be alive. I've lost everything, my wife, the right to be with my son, my career path, my references and resume, my vehicles, my credit rating, my standing in the community, my self-esteem, and almost my life. I have been subjected to every kind of abuse imaginable. I've been arrested, verbally abused and had my medication taken away from me. My ex-wife's daycare refuses periodically to permit me to see my 2-1/2 year old son. The lady who runs the day-care has denounced me in front of her church congregation.

How did thid come about? After going to a general practitioner and a "counselor" for depression, I was subsequently misdiagnosed and over-prescribed with up to 60 mg. of Paxil, Prozac's close relative. Boy did I feel good after a while. Unfortunately, it was also the beginning of the end of my life as I knew it.

Listen People! DO NOT TAKE THESE DRUGS! Neither I, my M.D. nor my counselor knew that like many people I was predisposed to being bi-polar. Hell, I didn't even know what that word meant until it was too late. My doctor and counselor obviously were in way over their heads by failing to look deeper into my past. So, in my case I already had the the genetic link for manic-depression, but it had never manifested or reared its ugly head until set off by this wonder drug.

Paxil precipitated my mania, and before you know it, I was in an Acute Manic Episode. I then proceeded to act out every symptom on the list. I talked fast, walked fast, did my business fast and boy did I have a bright future!

YA RIGHT! I spent 50,000 dollars IN 3 MONTHS, most of it borrowed, became promiscous and had an affair which ended my marriage, got arrested for possession of paraphenalia, became a chronic pot smoker, apparently self-medicating trying to take the edge off my mania --- I had quit drinking when a bad reaction with my medication almost killed me --- and generally wrapped up my life into a little ball and threw it away in just a matter of months.

With the anger I developed and my fondness for firearms, its a miracle that I didn't get arrested or shot by the police. At one time I did have an argument with a sheriff's deputy about why I was carrying my 12-gauge around. After I told him I was nuts and that I loaded it with alternating 00 buck-slugs, plus that the stains on it was my own dried blood smeared on it, it's a wonder he didn't call in a SWAT team. Luckily, I calmed down, got my latte, and drove off in the 33' motorhome that I had bought for some reason. While manic I had talked a gullible banker into loaning me $27,000 for this behemoth with no down payment and no job!

Anyway, as you can see, I was off to the races. Weird thing about mania, it all sounded like a good idea, yet today I have no clue why I did the things I did! Poor judgement is just another symptom. I won't go into the rest of my adventure, but will only say that I finally admitted myself to a hospital for a 12-day stay. Now, a year later, I am still trying to pick up the pieces. I can honestly say that if it were not for my son who needs me, I would have shot myself with that same shotgun last spring, after coming out of Mania into the deepest darkest Depression ever.

One day at a time! I am a survivor! Since Lithium didn't agree with me, I now take Carbemazipine to balance me out. I also take Zoloft, 200mg and now down to 150mg. It scares the shit out of me to take ANY anti-depressant in ANY amount! I couldn't make it through another year like the last. Now, I have one of the best psychiatrists around, and I feel reasonably confident that he knows what he is doing.

I just wanted to share one of the worst scenarios with everyone and re-emphasize to be careful, get second opinions and don't get a prescription from just anyone! Those miracle pills can ruin your life and maybe even kill you!!!!"

Barbara is on the FOOD, MOOD and MONEY diet:
"Before reading your report I had already been taking a full vitamin and mineral regime. I had figured out that the "medical" answers were not for me, and that most of what could cure me already grew in the yard, mine or someone else's. I wasn't in dire straits but I am always looking for ways to increase and maintain my forward momentum and to achieve a "wall free" life.

What's a wall free life? Everyone is familiar with the runner's wall. Well, there are also walls in my everyday life. They usually relate to areas where I haven't had any prior experience, or for some reason it just seems like too much effort to get started.

Now that I have added your bold supplements to my morning routine, I have far fewer of these walls. The ones that I do encounter are certainly shorter and thinner than they used to be. Life is a joy, and business is a blast.

Thanks for getting the word out!"

Rena's husband is on Prozac:
"My husband has been on Prozac for three years now and his whole being has changed. These changes have increased in the past year: Extreme mood swings, thoughts of suicide, deep depression, great hostility at times, compulsive behavior, anxiety, problems in sex (where none ever existed in 12 yrs of marriage), rash on arm for almost a year now, insomnia (when he does sleep it is with really bad nightmares), does not want to be touched 98% of the time, and the list goes on.

And about 3 weeks ago, for the first time in our marriage I thought he was going to get phyically violent with me. My husband is a recovered alcoholic and drug addict with nine years of sobriety under his belt, but I believe now that Prozac is worse than the years of using years drugs.

The doctor who gave him the Prozac knew he was an alcoholic/drug addict. It's hard for me to believe a doctor would give this out knowing what could happen. At the present time we are separated. I believe Prozac has a great deal to do with this seperation, it got to where I could no longer cope. Unfortunately he sees these things only during brief moments of reality which are not often nor long lasting.

I had to do alot of research before I realized I wasn't crazy, that these things really were happening. After I have seen what this drug can do to people, I would not want to see anyone take it EVER! I hope this will be of help to someone out there. Thank you."

"Please give me an answer to the following question and or suggestions i finally quit taking Prozac becouse i had sexual problems i would like to find out if this is common of an expirence and if the side effect can last 12 months or more becouse i still have problems with lack of interest? and or what should i do? please help."

Pamela was on Prozac:
"I am a manic depressive and was diagnosed in 1990. Since then I have been taking Lithium. I have had slight manic episodes - or what I now know to be manic episodes - since I was in my teens. I am now 41. I have always managed to help myself as much as possible and had a very successful career. Until I was prescribed Prozac.

I went from being abysmally depressed to totally manic in three days. Never have I had such a quick episode. It left no time for planning, which I am usually quite good at. I drank, smoked and drugged myself into an amazing state. I slept around. I spent all my money. I took 3 months' supply of Librium in ten days and it had no effect. I was high as a kite.

It was only because I had regular meetings with my psychiatrist (who tells me that there is no medical evidence for Prozac's side-effects) that I was hospitalized in time (I was living on caramel puddings and marmalade sandwiches.) Of course I'm off Prozac, and I am using your report."

Carl is on the FOOD, MOOD and MONEY diet:
"I had been on your nutritional program for more than a month before I realized in the middle of a day that I had actually been feeling happy, optimistic and cheerful for quite some time.

I used to worry and fret over business deals where I had maybe ten or twenty thousand dollars at risk. Today, after a year on your excellent program, the deals have gotten much bigger --- but I handle the tension with much greater peace of mind. The risks are there but I no longer freak or fuss over them."

Melanie's friend is on Prozac:
"Someone very important to me has been on Prozac for 2 months. I am frantic to get him off of it before it does more damage. Please help with info. He is very open to alternatives. He feels he has Chronic Fatique. He has less energy than he used to and he was getting very depressed. I have suggested he slowly lower the Prozac dose he takes everyday until he is off the drug. I figure to be safe this should be done over a two week period.

I also suggested he quit drinking caffeine, suggested 10 gram of VitC, 4 hi-stress B tablets, CoQ10, an adrenal tissue tablet, proanthcyanidins (pycnogenol) and go on a raw fruit and veggie diet for a short while. It may not be enough. Please send your report, it sounds like you have what we need."

Signed Melanie

Bill was on Prozac:
"Thank you for your prompt email reply and the newly revised copy of Food, Mood and Money! Perhaps it would be useful to describe what I am taking and a general description of myself. I am a 48 year old, single white male, an ectomorph, with a family history of alcoholism and dysthymia. I am in good health, have taken Prozac in the past but managed to get off of it. I am a non drinker but i still smoke cigarettes.

On a feeling level, I have always had this image of myself as a very powerful V-8 engine wrapped in heavy chains that hold it back from performance. I have gotten high on the mountain but never to the top and I have fallen to the bottom on several occasions. The describition in F-M-M fits me to a "T." Hence, the interest in Food, Mood and Money.

Here is my problem: At 5 a.m. I took the following and promptly fell asleep: 2000 mg of Tyrosine, 4000 Predigested Liver Amino Acids, 500 mg of Phenylalanine, 500 mg of Potassium and magnesium Aspartate, 550 of Niacinamide and 50 mg of DHEA. I awoke at 11AM. I've been on the F-M-M diet for a month and this happened several times.

A positive consequence of the F-M-M diet has been that I no longer stuff my feelings and "stand up" for myself. This is an incredible blessing!

Thanks again, and blessings!" Signed Bill

Dear Bill,
greetings and thanks for emailing us! We've had several readers with the same question. As you can see from the second edition of F>M>M, a lot of additional learning and feedback went into it, and it may have already answered your question:

If you take your morning Tyrosine and Amino Acid Blend WITH the B3 Vitamin (as one 500 mg Niacinamide) AND the C Vitamin (as 500mg with bioflavonoids AND the magnesium (as one or two Potassium-Magnesium Aspartate containing 300 mg magnesium), it converts into the neurotransmitter dopamine, and there's no way dopamine will mellow you out and make you sleepy. But if you leave out just ONE of these elements the metabolic pathways are not supported and no dopamine is produced. So be sure to follow the complete regimen. That's #1.

#2 could be this: What caused a similar fatigue in some readers was what they STOPPED taking when they went on the F>M>M diet. In these cases, their usual breakfasts were high in refined carbos (cereal, toast, jam, waffles, doughnuts, etc.) which gave them a sugar buzz for about an hour before making them mellow and passive for the rest of the morning.

My own experience was similar, but after a month, as my body got weaned off my breakfast carbo festivals, my morning mood levels became very alert and energetic and have been so ever since (1995).

Bill, this answer may not satisfy you, and I'll gladly dialogue with you about it if it's OK with you. If yes, please email me your phone number and best time of day or evening to call and we'll chat.

Sheila asks for help with torpor-type depression:
"Very neat site! I'll be ordering your book. In the meantime, any information on conditions where the major, and perhaps only, symptom appears to be excessive sleeping? I have a diagnosis of depression - or chronic fatique syndrom (sp?) because no one has any other ideas. And probably because no one wants to have to think . . .

I can sleep 24 hours out of 24, then up and almost normal for 4-8 hours, and then back to excesive sleeping. The only problem with the depression theory is that I'm not. I don't FEEL down, except when I'm worried about this excessive sleeping - and if I wasn't concerned, depressed about it, I think that would be a good indication of mental illness of some sort by itself.

As it is, I can feel pretty good, plan to do various things, and then am so sleepy and listless I can't. ??????? Any ideas? Thanks!"

Signed Sheila

Dear Sheila,
thanks for the kind words about our site! Now to your question (with the understanding that we're not giving medical advice, only sharing what our volunteer group has found in several years of experience). So we're telling you what we'd ask ourselves if we had your problem:

1. Are you or have you been under excessive stress? Creative pressure? I am talking of exhausted adrenals. In that case, what would happen if you gave in and did sleep for a couple of weeks straight? Would you get better?

If that's not it, move on to 2. Have you undergone major emotional and/or existential turmoil recently? It could be your unconscious simply requiring excessive processing time which also manifests as a greater need for sleep.

If that's not it, move on to 3. Are you a vegetarian? In case you are, here is a page from our report that may apply:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
"A Word About Vegetarianism
Vegetarians limit their food intake almost exclusively to mellow and neutral foods. Now mellow foods (Page 55) and neutral foods (Page 57) are an absolutely necessary part of a healthful power diet for reasons that go beyond mood elevation, but mellow foods contain little or no protein and therefore few amino acids. For this reason vegetarians have to supplement the mellow foods with the bold proteins of seeds, nuts and legumes (= beans, peas, garbanzos, sesames, etc.) for a complete diet.

There are only two ways you can survive on a diet consisting mainly of mellow and neutral foods without lowering your initiative-producing dopamine levels:

One way is to always supplement the mellow and neutral foods with a small amounts of at least one of the amino-acid-balanced animal-derived "bold foods" listed before (some meat, fish, a dairy product, an algae drink) .

A second way is to carefully supplement the mellow or neutral foods with legumes, (beans and peas, a bold food deficient in some of the amino acids), in an attempt to provide all the amino acids in balance. The Mexican beans-with-corn combinations and the East Indian beans-with-rice are time-honored efforts to re-create this amino acid balance. Further such food combining is well described in the excellent book Diet For a Small Planet by Frances Moore Lappe.

Especially our vegetarian friends face the challenge of food combining since they shun most animal-derived foods - fish, fowl, meats, eggs and cheeses - that are our primary sources of balanced amino acids. Vegetarians face the daily task of intelligently re-creating the amino acid balance which the rest of us obtain from a non-vegetarian diet. As a result vegetarianism is risky and only people with a great amount of nutritional knowledge (and commitment) need apply.

Many vegetarians apparently fail to maintain a sufficient supply and proper balance of amino acids. Could this be the reason we associate vegetarianism with a passive and contemplative temperament? Think of the vegetarians you know - are they not particularly gentle, meek and mild people? Of course there's nothing wrong with that, but if these are the virtues you want to cultivate you're reading the wrong report."
---------------------------------------

If that's not it, move on to 4. Do you spend most of your time indoors? In case that's true, here's some more info from FOOD, MOOD and MONEY:
---------------------------------------

"Exposure to Natural Light
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is an illness affecting many people during winter in northern climates, as well as city people who generally spend a lot of their time indoors. SAD brings with it a depressed mood, lack of energy, plus carbohydrate and alcohol cravings. Get exposure to natural light several times per week - go on walks and hikes. Change the lights under which you work to full-spectrum fluorescent tubes (Duro-Test's "VitaLite" or similar)."
---------------------------------------

If that's not really it either, move on to 5. and rent the movie "Awakenings." You may have already seen it. In it, Robin Williams playing a doctor is dealing with snoozy, vegetating basket cases (one of the Robert de Niro) by giving them high doses of a chemical precursor of the neurotransmitter dopamine. The drug is called L-Dopa. Of course this works. The basket cases wake up and re-find active joy in life.

Now we're not saying you should take this (or any other) drug. Our power diet works by careful dietary management of two crucial neurotransmitters, serotonin (mediating serenity and laid-back cool) and dopamine (mediating energy and initiative). The last thing you want are continuously and artificially elevated levels of these two neurotransmitters such as you would get by taking a so-called "Re-Uptake Inhibitor." By the way, the re-uptake inhibitor for serotonin (SRI) is Prozac, the one for dopamine (DRI) is Cocaine...

What you want, and what our diet enhances, is your body's ability to produce these neurotransmitters in and of itself, and in a daily rhythm, with higher dopamine levels in the morning so you'll feel like going out and taking on the world, and elevated serotonin levels in the evening so you can make peace with the world and sleep like a baby.

So our final clue for you is this: If you follow our diet you'll be eating foods and food supplements in a specific daily rhythm:

What we call "mellow foods" are evening foods and supplements. If you ate them in the morning you'd start your day passive and lazy.

What we call "bold foods" are morning foods and supplements. If you took them in the evening you couldn't sleep with the excess energy.

We hate to sound like marketers, Shelia, but you DO need to work with our report and follow its diet for at least a month. Look, you've got nothing to lose because as a matter of pride we always give this money-back guarantee: If our methods don't work for you, send the report back (with a brief note, please, so we can learn something too) and we'll refund you purchase price (with a smile!).

Out of over 20,000 readers, NOT ONE has claimed this guarantee. That ought to tell you something.

Be happy, be healthy, be bold!

Joan Larson writes in Alcoholism--The Biochemical Connection:
"No amount of counseling or psychotherapy can help people who suffer from biochemically induced depression. I learned this the hard way: Watching my son fight the deep sadness and feelings of hopelessness that descended upon him as his depression worsened. The counseling he received was excellent, but words have no power to reverse the biochemical disruption caused by alcoholism and drugs. In fact, therapy's focus on the unhappy or unsatisfactory external events in the lives of such seriously depressed people only creates more misery.

My search for an explanation for Rob's suicide led me to studies that confirmed the connections between brain biochemistry and depression and offered nutritional methods of repair that succeed far more reliably than any form of talk therapy.

Research has verified the relationship between their body biochemistry and their depression. Autopsies of people who have committed suicide have revealed biochemical deficiencies and disruptions that may be unique to suicidal depression."
